National Premiere
Interactivity has always been the hallmark of the Elektra Festival of Montreal, the most important electronic arts fixture in Canada, now in its ninth year. Avant-garde artists from the whole world experiment previously untried combinations between electronic music and visual creations produced by new technologies. At Elektra, experimentation is unbridled and produces strange hybrid creatures made of music, cinema, video and design.
An audio-video performance on three monitors of the Alain Tibault’s duo Ray_XXXX, “Pulse” explores the relationship between light and sound drive. Thanks to the close interaction between sounds and images, the outcome comes close to true kinaesthesia. In the series of installations, it will also be possible to discover “Cityspeak”, Jason Lewis’ interactive and participatory project. The public will be given, on this occasion, the possibility to create digital graffiti by utilising personal communication instruments such as cellular phones.
